Shuttle Services of NCYU

National Chiayi University (NCYU) operates a regular and free shuttle bus service connecting all major campuses and facilities in Chiayi City. All university buses are electric vehicles powered by solar-charging systems, achieving a fully zero-emission transportation model. The university collaborates with the government-owned Guoguang Bus Company to provide 28–36 daily routes, ensuring reliable and convenient service during peak hours for students and staff.  Riders can access the shuttle free of charge by scanning their NCYU student or staff ID cards. In addition to large solar-powered electric buses, small electric shuttle cars operate within campuses to transport staff, visitors, and maintenance teams between buildings.  This system significantly reduces the dependence on private fuel vehicles, improves air quality, and supports the university’s carbon-neutral transition. NCYU’s shuttle program demonstrates strong alignment with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by providing an accessible, clean, and energy-efficient public transportation model.
