In 2024, National Chiayi University (NCYU) organized numerous cultural activities that fostered artistic expression, cross-cultural exchange, and community engagement on and off campus. Major events included the 2024 NCYU Arts Festival “Harmony in Art & Dragon Spirit” featuring 19 interdisciplinary art activities, the International Cultural Festival with performances from students of seven countries, and the NCYU Wind Orchestra’s historic participation in the 2024 WASBE, where the Taiwan flag was raised for the first time in the event’s history. Other highlights included the Musical Theatre’s Broadway production of Shrek the Musical, the Visual Arts Department’s “Haomei Forest Art Walk”, and the USR collaboration with Public Television Service on the string puppet performance “AMing’s Journey in Suantou.” These activities connected the campus with local communities, revitalized cultural heritage, and showcased the university’s role in promoting sustainable art, education, and international understanding.
Altogether, NCYU hosted over 30 cultural events in 2024, advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through inclusive participation and creative collaboration.
