Student Organizations and Activities related to sustainability

National Chiayi University was founded with a focus on agriculture, leading students to establish clubs related to ecological resources and various volunteer teams. In 2023, 35 sustainability-related activities were organized across different fields. Here are some examples of sustainability activities by these clubs:

The Animal Behavior Department organizes four annual sessions of campus tours at the Lantan campus's back hill, helping participants learn about the campus's flora and fauna. The Natural Resource Conservation Club holds environmental education and conservation activities for birds and turtles at the Aogu Wetlands and Chukou Conservation Center. The Special Education Volunteer Teams organize a peer support and companionship program each semester, where members provide reading support for students with disabilities. The Agronomy Volunteer Teams host rice harvesting experience activities in rural areas during harvest season.  During the summer, the Yunfeng Mountaineering Club leads members in mountain clean-up activities. The Little Cooking Club visits elderly care homes each season, bringing joy to the elderly through culinary performances and delicious food. The Student Counselling Volunteer Teams assist in activities organized by the Counseling Center, and the Forestry and Natural Resources Club organizes ecological protection awareness activities at the university's forest sites.
