National Chiayi University has 121 sister universities worldwide. These partner institutions offer a variety of student exchange programs, off-campus research opportunities, and internships. As illustrated in the previous table, a notable example is the 2nd Trilateral Symposium on SDGs, initiated in 2023 with Chiang Mai and Kagawa Universities. Moreover, we collaborate annually to hold the International Coastal Cleanup Day, working collectively towards sustainability. The 2023 NCYU USR & SDGs Spring School was also organized, featuring courses incorporating SDGs themes for students from our Japanese sister schools. The Office of International Affairs also organizes the Overseas Study and Research Program, focusing on sustainability. Through this program, exchange students visit partner universities in other countries to experience local sustainability practices and bring their insights back to campus for presentations. National Chiayi University also participates annually in the TEEP (Taiwan Experience Education Program) organized by the Ministry of Education, allowing international students to engage in exchanges at the university through this program. Additionally, we signed a Climate Change Rice Research Program with Maejo University in Thailand to explore conditions and facilities that support rice growth in the face of climate change. We also signed a Green Extraction Project with Saint Lucia and the Republic of the Marshall Islands, collectively striving for global sustainability. Currently, National Chiayi University has dual-degree programs with Kansas State University in Information Management, Economics, Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science.
In 2023, university sustainability programs with international collaborations reached 12 projects.
